Mont Saint Michel and its bay

Discover the bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel on the border of Normandy, 2 and a half hour from Moëlan sur mer. This holy island and its breathtaking bay are now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The story of the mount dates back to the early 8th century. Saint Michael appeared in his dreams and asked him to have at the top of the island. From 966, the dukes of Normandy and later the French kings supported the development of a Benedictine abbey. In the Middle ages, monastic buildings were added and the Mont- Michel became a renowned center of learning. Big numbers of pilgrims visited . More buildings lined the steep village street now turned into museums, shops, restaurants...

Climb up to the abbey, a masterpiece of architecture; Visit all the spaces dedicated to religious life, daily life (refectory, cloister etc)and to welcoming pilgrims
